KS3 Travel Classes - new term starts 15 April 2024
Fun, interactive travel classes which are actually geography, history, & social studies in disguise

Aimed at roughly ages 11-14
​
This half term we'll:
-
create travel posters and brochures on our chosen destination
-
Plan a basic travel itinerary
-
Learn more about the foreign currency used and get practise doing exchange rate calculations.

We will also work on some basic language skills so we can communicate with the
locals, and students will be able to join our Duolingo Classroom which will give them
unlimited practise time and no adverts.

New students are always VERY welcome, and many return term after term

Dates:
Monday mornings during Hampshire term time.
15 April to 20 May (no class on 6 May Bank holiday)
Time: 10am - 10:45 on Zoom
Cost: £25 per family for the project. (ie £5 per class)
Separate logins for siblings at no extra charge
Intro to Business Studies - Starts 10 June 2024
Who is it for?
(a) Students undecided about taking Business Studies at GCSE level and would like to get a feel for it first; or
(b) teens who would simply like to get a little grasp about how businesses function.
Class content is based on the Edexcel International GCSE syallabus
Dates: Mondays 10 June to 8 July 2024
Times: 11am – 12pm
Cost: £50 per student
Classes are live with the tutor’s screen on. They are a mix of lecture style content, videos, and discussion with student participation. Classes will also be recorded.

The course will introduce students to:
• Business activity and influences on business. (Things like different types of businesses and their differing objectives; measuring success; reasons for failure)
• People in business (covering things like communication, recruitment, training, motivation)
• Business finance (why cash is so important)
• Marketing (the lifeblood of a business)
• Business operations (how businesses are run)
